1. Data controller
Michael Araneda, an individual domiciled in Chile, is the controller responsible for personal data collected through myenglishtracker.com (the "Service"). Contact: contact@myenglishtracker.com.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account data: name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google identifier and profile photo. 2.2 Usage and progress data: your progress status against CEFR descriptors, history of generated exercises, your answers and feedback on practice sessions (including audio recordings if you use speaking exercises), saved vocabulary words, and saved corrections. 2.3 Payment data: handled directly by Mercado Pago; we only receive confirmation of your subscription status, not your full card details. 2.4 Technical and session data: IP address, device/browser type, session cookies (Supabase authentication), and a language-preference cookie. 2.5 Activity logs: sign-ins, sign-outs, plan changes, resource deletions, and unauthorized access attempts are recorded in our internal logs (logs_actividad, logs_sesiones) for security and audit purposes. 2.6 Analytics: we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, session duration) when NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID is configured and active on the site.
3. How we use your data
Provide and personalize the Service (tracking your progress, generating exercises tailored to your level); process payments and manage your subscription; send you account-related communications (confirmations, changes to these documents, security notices); detect and prevent fraud, abuse of the AI generator, or unauthorized access; improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics where possible.
4. Who we share your data with (processors)
To operate the Service, we share data with the following providers, which act as data processors under their own security policies: Supabase (authentication and database, including Row-Level Security to isolate each user's data); Vercel (application hosting); Mercado Pago (payment and subscription processing); Anthropic and/or DeepSeek (AI model providers used to generate exercises, feedback, and content — they receive the text needed to generate the requested content, not your payment data or password); ElevenLabs (audio generation for listening exercises); Google Analytics (site usage analytics, when active). We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers process data on servers outside Chile (United States or other jurisdictions). By using the Service, you accept this transfer, carried out under each provider's contractual security safeguards.
6. Your rights (Chile's Law N° 19.628 on the Protection of Private Life)
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, and objection (ARCO rights) over your personal data at any time by writing to contact@myenglishtracker.com. We will respond within the timeframes established by applicable law. You may also delete your account and associated data directly from the Service settings.
7. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information due to legal obligations (e.g., billing records) or to resolve disputes.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), Row-Level Security policies at the database level, and role-based access control. No system is 100% secure; if we detect a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Minors
The Service is not directed at unsupervised minors under 18. If you are a teacher adding underage students to the Service, you represent that you have the necessary consent from their parents or guardians, or that you are acting within an educational relationship authorized by your institution.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies for the Service to function (authentication session, language preference) and, when configured, Google Analytics cookies. You can manage cookies from your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Service.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. We will publish the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or via a notice on the Service.
